Product description
Resilient, flame retardant filament from BASF Ultrafuse
The Ultrafuse PEI 9085 filament is made of the resin ULTEM 9085 This amorphous thermoplastic is a polyetherimide (PEI) blend, specially developed for its higher flow properties, offering excellent printing performance, high thermal resistance, broad chemical resistance, strength and stiffness. The unique properties of this material make it a great addition for all those who require demanding components in Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printing.
Ultrafuse PEI 9085 is designed for complex applications and high temperature environments such as aviation, aerospace and automobile manufacturing. Due to its inherent flame retardancy and low smoke emission it is well suited for electronics and electrical appliances.
Advantages of BASF Ultrafuse PEI 9085
- Filament Short-term temperature resistance up to 186°C
- Excellent dimensional stability
- Inherent flame retardancy with low smoke emission
- Good chemical resistance against automotive fluids
- Long-term hydrolytic stability against hydrocarbons, alcohols and aqueous solutions
Applications for BASF Ultrafuse PEI 9085 Filament
The printed material is frequently used by companies from the automotive industry, aerospace and engineering. In particular, Ultrafuse PEI 9085 is suitable for printing air ducts, electronic housing parts and functional components.
Note: This 3D print filament is a high temperature material. For processing, a suitable printer with heatable installation space and above-average high printing nozzle temperature and printing bed temperature is required, such as from Intamsys or Minifactory. PPSU and PEI 9085 from the German chemical group BASF can each be used mutually as support material.
